Wedding Stationery Trends: Letterpress
Marriage may be an ancient institution and, yes, wedding traditions abound, but the way we choose to celebrate the union between two people is no less subject to trends coming and going than any other aspect of human culture.
Destination weddings, wedding websites, and adult-only weddings are among the top trends of the last decade, according to Betches.com, while The Knot asserts that, among other things, we can expect a lot of micro weddings and inclusive menus in 2020.
In the wedding stationery niche, we also experience the waxing and waning of various trends. The wedding invitation is a guest’s first impression of a coming wedding, and many couples choose to keep the wedding stationery as a memento of their special day. It’s no wonder, then, that they care a great deal about getting it right!
Choosing Colours for your Wedding Stationery – Let the Seasons Inspire You!
Choosing the right colours and design for your wedding stationery – and, by extension, possibly the whole wedding itself – can be a surprisingly difficult task.
Compared to tracking down the right venue or perfecting the seating arrangements, picking a couple of colours may initially seem like a simple task, but with all the colours in the world to choose from, where do you start? All that freedom can be paralysing, so you need some method of narrowing down your choices.
One great place to draw inspiration from is the seasons of the year: consider the predominant colours and motifs of the season during which you have elected to get married and work them into your design and colour palette.
Wedding Stationery Etiquette – Do’s and Don’ts
Wedding planning is an enormous and stressful task. Most people planning one are likely to be doing so for the first time and to feel, at least during some parts of the process, that they have no idea what they are doing.
One part of the planning process that can trip people is wedding stationery etiquette – the do’s and don’ts of sending out invitations and save the dates. When do you send them out? What information do you and do you not include? What are the social pitfalls?
